Who am i?
Manon Peters Profile
My father always said: “Goede medewerkers moeten ook mondig zijn” meaning that good employees also must speak up. No matter how difficult a situation might have been throughout my career, or personal life, I always held on to this learning, and I have always gathered the courage and collected the confidence to go after what I want.
I’m a dutch national, born and raised abroad. I lived and worked in 9 different countries through 4 different continents. I love every sport, attending big sport events and I’m a keen long distance triathlete. My favourite sport of all sports is to negotiate.
I live in Germany with my partner Kai & besides my passion to helping women develop negotiation skills and achieve what they deserve I also love exploring our beautiful world.
How I came to negotiation:
As a 7 year old child, we lived in Spain, and I used to negotiate prices of golf balls I had found with my father’s friends, as a teenager I developed skills negotiating with my parents but I also have vivid memories of enjoying a school Model United Nations Conference. MUN is an educational simulation program in which students role-play as diplomats representing different countries or organizations and work together to draft resolutions and negotiate on various global issues. Starting my career I switched jobs a couple of times allowing me to negotiate my own packages both at new entry as well as in continuous promotions and this with different bosses, cultures and personalities. A few years ago, when living in Hong Kong, I developed more skills both during my online MBA as well as on the weekends bargaining my fruits & veggies on the local markets. I also was able to proudly negotiate €17K off the purchase of my first property and I made a gain of €90K on the sale of the same property whilst proudly saving the realtor fees by taking ownership of this by myself. I’m the kind of girl that is able to gain a percentage off bank interest rates, win a disagreement with my insurance company and recover a couple of euros when a service provider messes up.
I have probably read about every book about negotiation. In 2021 I completed a master negotiator program by BRANDIS NEGOTIATIONS and in 2022 I became a certified coach.
I’m passionate about helping women get what they deserve and about negotiating so in 2022 I founded Free Bird by Manon and in 2023 I created Miss Negotiation with the ambition to create a greater impact.
What I do:
I dedicate myself to helping women uncover their true negotiation potential. I provide trainings that allow women to build the necessary skills and confidence to lead effective and influencing negotiations. I also offer individual tailored programs through one on one or team coaching where together we go in depth into a designated specific negotiation situation. I help women lead through the research and define strategic steps to prepare for the negotiation. The program includes a practice session and I help build the confidence and empowerment to achieve what they deserve. This program helps women discover their value proposition as well as develop the skills to communicate and articulate what they want and need. Learning how to negotiate helps women develop the careers that they want and set up the personal lives they deserve. I believe in empowering all women, regardless of background, origin, belief, or gender identification. My coaching is designed to support women from all walks of life, creating a safe, diverse and inclusive community where every woman can thrive.
